Zimbabwe Down Syndrome Association (ZDSA) was formed by parents of children/persons with Down Syndrome, it consists of parents, guardians, helpers/caregivers and friends of persons with this condition. ZDSA is affiliated to Africa Down Syndrome Network (ADSN)m ZDSA is the founder member of ADSN in 2014 and is affiliated to the following:

Africa Disability Alliance (ADA)
Federation of Organizations of People with Disability (FODPZ)
It is a reputable parent organisation advocating and lobbying for the rights of persons with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Parents hold monthly meetings where they share the successes and challenges, as a coordinating organisation we gather information from parents and share, advocate and lobby with relevant local, regional and international authorities.
Zimbabwe Down Syndrome Association is spearheading the ratification of the Africa Disability Protocol with the government and human rights agencies.
ZDSA joins the Down syndrome global community in commemorating World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st of March every year.
The organisation is involved in sporting activities that promote physical and psychosocial development. Parent- group meetings are held every month.

To ensure persons with Down syndrome are given the opportunity to contribute to the community at large and large, and lobby for their full integration and inclusion into the society with equal opportunities and empowerment.
